Withers Broadcasting/Dana Communications – Jackson and Williamson Co. both reported new COVID-19 cases in the double digits on Sunday as the two most populous counties in Southern IL sit on the state’s COVID warning list. Williamson County reported eleven new cases and Jackson Co. reported ten new cases yesterday. According to the IDPH, a county enters a warning level when it experiences an increase in two or more risk indicators from the state’s COVID-19 Resurgence Mitigation plan. This marks Williamson County’s fourth straight week on the list. Pulaski County was also listed. Elsewhere in Southern IL, Franklin Co. reported eight new cases, Saline Co. reported four and White Co. reported two. The rolling seven day average of positive tests in region five, covering most of Southern IL has dropped down to six percent.
